Terragen

These are my Terragen images. If you do not have Terragen, I encourage you to get it. It's a free, small download, and is incredibly easy to use. They can be reached through my main site, http://xar.blogspot.com. I know, I know, all the mindelss self-promotion, I really don't pity you at all.

You can email me and tell me that these suck, and I will respond, telling you to stuff it. I've seen much worse on the internet, and some of mine didn't even make the cut to be on this site, so just settle your little ass down. If I were good at this I'd be getting paid.

Terra I is sort of a self-homage, the first piture I rendered in Terragen. It sucks, go figure.

Terra III was based sort of on the weird tree/beehive/island in Riven, altough it didn't quite come off like I had envisioned. I still like it. You'll notice the lack of a Terra II. That's because number two was number one filled with water. Plus, all the "cool artists" skip numbers at random.

Terra V was based on the idea that I have to fabricate a sunset if I want to see a good one here in suburbia.

Coastal Range is one of my mom's favorites, but I'm not that impressed. I don't like the mist at all - it was supposed to be a bit more... expansive, cloudlike. You know, like real mist.

Spires is cool - I took a picture of a starfield, changed it into raw binary data in Photoshop, and used that as the base for this landscape. I like the result. It's a hell of a lot easier than making these by hand.

Mordor is a fluid image. Click for details.

Palouse is based on a picture of the palouse area of Eastern Washington that my mom really likes. I can testify that this is what it really looks like, and there's a lot more. Definately one of the most beautiful regions of the country.
