The Mordor image went through several iterations, starting with a hand-drawn terrain with orange, murky "lava" (water) to a cool orange glow effect over computer-generated terrain, which always looks better anyway. I know the final effect doesn't look much like the actual thing, but Mordor is what it started out as, and Mordor it shall remain. Besides, what else are you going to call it, hell? Sorry, but there haven't been many hobbits in hell recently. I won't bore you with extensive descriptions, but take a look at each one if you're curious.
